Alex Jorgensen is a painter of Norwegian descent born in 1967. He studied at Bath Academy of Art and Brighton Polytechnic where he was awarded Birtles Memorial Prize.

In 1989 Jorgensen set up a printmaking workshop near Bath. In the same year he began making small oil paintings and subsequently exhibited with sculptor Guy Taplin. In 1996 he moved to London and made his first encaustic works at Limehouse studio.

In 2012 Alex Jorgensen moved to Buckinghamshire, prompting a return to oil painting.
